Vahram Davtian, a modern artist from Armenia, paints in the style of surrealism.

His main working method is multilayered painting that was used by artists of the past.

Surrealism (French: Surréalisme, literally: "super-realism”, "over-realism”) is a movement in art and literature of the twentieth century that began in the early 1920s and that is best known for usage of allusions and counterintuitive combinations of forms.

The basic concept of surrealism is surreality – the combination of dream and reality. For that the surrealists proposed an absurd and contradictory combination of naturalistic images through collage and "ready-made” technology. Surrealists were inspired by the radical left-wing ideology, but they offered to start a revolution from consciousness.
