Limitless imagination of this artist wins over by its irrepressible freedom and non-artificiality, by rare talent to combine reality and dream, painting and photography, art and working in Photoshop. Vladimir Fedotko, when collecting themes for his works like a puzzle from variety of elements, creates his own style that cannot be easily classified. But one thing we know for sure – both author and his works deserve being known about.
Digital art – peculiarity of this kind of creative activity is combining photo and drawing in order to show something that cannot be just photographed.
Vladimir digitizes some of his works drawn by hand, paints them in Photoshop and uses as backgrounds to his new photo-projects. Thus, he combines several techniques in his works: traditional painting, digital photography and photomanupulation.
Vladimir sees a rich potential for creation of beautiful and wonderful images with help of computer processing.
DIGITAL COLORFUL DREAMS
Somebody may consider his works to be surrealistic. But the author prefers to avoid this formulation, because he finds this style too "cold” and coming rather from head than from heart.
He recalls with a great deal of irony that many generations of artists from the earliest times sought inspiration by consuming various alcoholic and narcotic substances, that five thousand years ago cave people ate "wrong" mushrooms on special occasions, after that they fell asleep and saw "colorful" dreams, and that some of them, suffering from insomnia and creative incontinence, drew graffiti right on the walls of the public caves (and were often beaten in the mornings for that). Of course, the author of works that look like bright beautiful dreams doesn’t need such stimulation for creative inspiration.
Actually, the themes of Vladimir Fedotko's works often develop in the process of acquaintance and communication with his models.
The theme of the circus is developed in many works, where reality and fiction exist simultaneously without violating the subtle harmony of perception. It's nice to think that there is such a mobile island of fun, kindness, imagination and freedom in plain everyday life like the imaginary circus of Vladimir Fedotko.
